Email Written by Me to Family and Friends after Preliminary Diagnosis

Dearest family and friends,

First of all – a happy new year to all of you.

We were able to speak to a few of you directly, but before word spreads, we wanted to send out an email so you have the facts from us as we know them so far.

I’m afraid ours is off to a challenging start.

After a few weeks of pain in his tummy, Sugar saw a doctor on Dec. 30th.  Long story short – we spent most of the afternoon and evening at Mount Sinai emergency on New Year’s Eve and have been told that his liver and lymph nodes contain several masses that are “probable malignancies”.  We won’t know exactly what we’re dealing with until they can schedule a biopsy in the next week or so.

We’re staying positive – we’re lucky enough to live in a city with a world class cancer hospital – but keep expecting to wake up from some strange dream.

We’ll update you when we know more.

Thank you all very much for your ongoing love, support and positivity.  We will get through this together.

Hugs and love from the 3 of us to all of you.

This Young Widow, Sugar and Bub
